George was found guilty of murder, but the forensic evidence was later questioned? He was released from prison 10 years ago after serving eight years for a murder he didn't commit.

After at least two trips to the High Court with libel claims, Barry George has received compensation from tabloid newspapers for numerous claims made against him.

He took an undisclosed sum from Rupert Murdoch's News Group Newspapers in December 2009 as payment for items that appeared in The Sun and the News of the World after mediation.

In May 2010, Mirror Group Newspapers reached a settlement with George on allegations that he had become fixated on singer Cheryl and broadcaster Kay Burley, unrelated to the murder of Dando.

The Court of Appeal deemed Barry George's conviction unsound and overturned it in 2007. On August 1, 2008, he was exonerated following a retrial.

His claims for unjust detention compensation have been denied. The sole concrete evidence was a speck of gunpowder discharge residue, which matched the ammo used in the murder.

Despite having been found not guilty ten years ago, he claims that he does not feel free and is looking over his shoulder. He was exonerated in 2008 following his conviction for Ms. Dando's murder in 2001.

The next year, Mr. George believes the same warning was made while he was residing in Hackney, East London.

When he was staying in emergency housing in Hackney, he recalled that he was standing in a long hallway when a gun was put to his head and was told to watch his back.
