According to her, she and T'Challa planned for their son to grow up somewhere away from Wakanda if his father passed away. He walked the red carpet with his co-stars, with his on-screen mother, Lupita Nyong'o, at the premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Divine Love Konadu-Sun Appears In The End Credit Scene
After Shuri has burned her ceremonial robe in the film's post-credits sequence, Nakia walks over to deliver a surprise: her son, Toussaint, portrayed by actor Divine Love Konadu-Sun.
Nakia then tells Shuri how she and T'Challa thought it was best for them to grow up apart from the pressures of the throne. Toussaint then discloses that the young Prince's real name is T'Challa, after his deceased father, Chadwick Boseman's King T'Challa.
Toussaint is a character who was born after the incidents of Avengers: Infinity War. Black Panther also disappears and reappears five years later during Avengers: Endgame.
Toussaint is still too young to take on responsibility for the throne. Shuri gives up the throne and turns it over to M'Baku, the current ruler of Wakanda. Toussaint, in terms of becoming the Black Panther, seemed to know nothing about it.
