Russian figure skater Ekaterina Gordeeva was married two times before finally finding David.
Her first marriage was with her skating partner Sergei Grinkov and her second marriage was with fellow skater Ilia Kulik.
Her first was cut short after the passing of her then-husband from a heart attack while the reason behind the second divorce hasn’t been made public.

Ekaterina Gordeeva first met Sergei Grinkov when she was 11 years old and Sergei was 15 years old. They were paired as skaters by their then-coach.
It was then that the two developed feelings for one another. However, as Grinkov would frequently miss his practice, her coach wanted her to change partners but the two were so fond of each other that they changed their coaches instead.
They ended up getting married and has two wedding ceremonies, a state ceremony and a church ceremony on 20 April 1991 and 28 April 1991 respectively.
The couple also had a daughter together Daria Sergeyevna Gordeeva-Grinkova who was born on 11 September 1992. She is now 30 years old.
As the couple lived happily for a few years, Gordeeva lost her first husband on 20 November 1995 when he passed away from a heart attack while in practice.
