Pattie Petty lived for 33 years with her husband, Kyle Petty, the legendary stock car racer.

The couple tight knot in February 1979 but divorced in 2012. The couple shares three children, Adam Kyler Petty (1980–2000), Austin Kemp Petty (1982), and Montgomery Lee Petty Schlappi(1985).

Unfortunately, they lost their first kid Adam, who was known for China O'Brien (1990). Kyle, the former stock car racing commentator, is the grandson of racer Lee Petty. A 62-year-old car racer is the 1998 & 2000 NASCAR USG Person of the Year.

Likewise, he is NASCAR Illustrated Person of the Year (1999 & 2000) and winner of the National Motorsports Press Association Myers Brother Award in 2000 and 2004. North Carolina-born Petty won his first race in the 1979 Daytona ARCA 200.

Furthermore, he had several numbers for sponsorship to Wood Brothers Racing in 1985. In 1989, he agreed to a part-time schedule with the fledgling SABCO Racing squad.
