Milli Vanilli was a well-known German-Frech R&B duo from Munich and had earned enormous fame in their early career. In particular, German record producer and musician Frank Farian founded the duo Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. 

Further, the duo released their debut album All or Nothing in November 1988 in Europe and repacked with the title Girl You Know It was True in the United States in 1989. Further, Fab and Rob won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist on February 21, 1990. 

In addition, the duo became the most favored pop artist in the early 1990s, with millions of records sold. Milli Vanilli released three studio albums, including All or Nothing (1988), Girl You Know It's True (1989), and The Moment of Truth (1991).

Milli Vanilli reached the height of success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but audiences noticed their fake Lip sync and failed to act appropriately on their performance. Many claimed they were not the original singer from the album.

In particular, the fans first noticed their lip-syncing during a live performance on MTV at the Lake Compounce theme park in Bristol, Connecticut, on July 21, 1989. The controversies covered the music industry, and Farian fired them from the group and confessed they did not sing on the records. 

Further, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences revoked Milli Vanilli's 1990 Grammy for Best New Artist, where Pilatus and Morvan confessed everything in a press conference for over 100 Journalists and stated to return their Grammy Award.

Where Is Milli Vanilli Now?

Milli Vanilli does not function at the current date as the duo was active until 1998. However, the pair tried to restore their career and produced a new Milli Vanilli album with Morvan and Pilatus on lead vocals in 1997. 

Further, the duo recorded the comeback album Back and In Attack in 1998, but Pilatus encountered multiple drugs and crime in the following days. Pilatus got three months in jail in a drug rehabilitation facility in California.

On the other hand, Pilatus died from an alcohol and prescription drug overdose in a hotel room in Frankfurt, Germany, on April 2, 1998. However, Morvan continued his career and released his first solo album, Love Revolution, in 2003. 

In addition, Morvan released the single Anytime in April 2011 and appeared in a documentary-style KFC commercial in 2016  that focuses on his life and music career after Milli Vanilli.

Milli Vanilli had earned millions of net worth as a duo in the past years. Milli Vanilli sold millions of records within two years, from 1998 to 1990. However, their career turned upside down after fans found them faking the lip sync. 

Rob Pilatus died at the age of 32 on April 3, 1998. On the other hand, Fab Morvan continued his music career and released some albums and singles, including Love Revolution (2003), One of These Nights, and See the Light. Morvan might have a net worth of $2 million as of 2022.
